Client: Craiglist
Industry: eCommerce
My role: Product Design, UX Designer, UX Research
Year: 2020
With a lot of tools of UX, we change all experiences of Craigslist, we did interviews, heuristic evaluation, user proof, among others.
THE PROJECT
Craigslist is a web platform to offers different things. There are sections dedicated to employment, housing, personal contacts, used and new sales, services, community, concerts, resumes, and discussion forums.
Context
Craigslist has a lot of competition. Therefore it must generate some additional value that the others do not have.
Goal
Offer the Craigslist user security and confidence to make the purchase they want.
Purpose
Increase purchases of used items on Craigslist.
THE PROCESS

Heuristics Evaluation
We did a usability evaluation with the 10 Nielsen Heuristics, analyzing that the current platform does not comply with almost any of them.

User Research
In this part, we interviewed ten people, five women, and five men; we defined our target and named each one (Hero and Nova).

Analysis
After the ten interviews, we identified eight main insights and filtered them among motivations, concerns, needs, and frustrations. And we focused on the pain points of the users, identifying security, payments, and communication.

UX Writing
Before making a prototype of the app, we made a content prototype; with this, we were able to identify the possible screens necessary to respond to the pain points that we discovered before. Also, we did the first sessions with users with card sorting techniques to identify the information and make the information architecture of the app.

Sketch
With the sketch, we did the first tests with users, and before making a better resolution prototype, we already knew the first changes we should make.

Besides this, we started to have our flow

Wireframes
We started to design in Adobe XD the prototype that we will testify with the users and the one that will give us a starting point.

The branding

UX Testing
Something that is not tested will not work; for this reason, we did a test plan with the goal, target… The result was more than 10 UX testing with one-on-one interviews, Thinking aloud, online discussions, and polls.

We classify the results and prioritize them with the prioritization grid.

Boom!
We made the changes and delivered them to the client
